World-Class Experts to Gather in Katowice for the Largest Sustainable Transport Event in Central and Eastern Europe
From 23–25 September 2025, the International Congress Centre (MCK) in Katowice will become the heart of the global debate on the future of transport — on land, water, and in the air. The New Mobility Congress 2025 (KNM 2025) will bring together 400 world-class experts, industry leaders, and policymakers for three days of discussions on the key challenges and decarbonisation trends shaping the sector.
Confirmed speakers include internationally renowned authorities such as Carlo Ratti (MIT / CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati), Françoise Poggi (Fastned), Hui Zhang (NIO Europe), Mark Chung (National Safety Council), Damiano Cerrone (UrbanistAI), Janet Sanz (Metropolitan Area of Barcelona), Felipe Rodriguez (ICCT Europe), and Arek Nowiński (Volvo Cars).
The event’s agenda is being developed under the guidance of a Program Council composed of over 30 leading experts. In total, around 180 sessions and the largest sustainable transport EXPO in the CEE region will take place in Katowice this September.
Katowice — the European capital of zero-emission mobility
For three days, Katowice will become the European capital of zero-emission transport as it hosts the sixth edition of the New Mobility Congress — for the first time organized in the Metropolis GZM, the official host of the event.
KNM 2025 will convene high-level politicians, EU and national decision-makers, city mayors, diplomats, representatives of industry, science, and startups, as well as key stakeholders from across the mobility ecosystem.
“The year 2025 could mark a turning point for Poland’s electromobility market after a challenging 2024,” says Maciej Mazur, Managing Director of the Polish Alternative Fuels Association (PSNM). “We are witnessing a clear upward trend, with electric vehicles reaching a record 6% share in new passenger car registrations in May. We expect this growth to continue despite the recent relaxation of EU fleet CO₂ rules. The momentum will likely accelerate further in 2027. However, achieving this positive outlook requires continued action — that is why this year’s Congress will be groundbreaking in many ways,” he adds.
400 speakers, 180 sessions, 6 thematic stages
The uniqueness of the New Mobility Congress lies in its multidisciplinary and expert-driven programme.
This year, across around 180 debates, workshops, and thematic presentations, more than 400 global authorities will explore the latest developments in road, maritime, and aviation transport, micromobility, autonomous driving, energy transition, urban design, AI, and public policy.
The six stages of the Congress will host renowned voices including:
Carlo Ratti – Architect, engineer, and Professor at MIT, where he directs the Senseable City Lab. Founder of CRA–Carlo Ratti Associati and curator of the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale. Recognised as one of the most influential urban thinkers of our time.
Françoise Poggi – COO at Fastned, the high-power charging network known for its iconic yellow canopies. Former Tesla executive responsible for European supply chain operations.
Hui Zhang – Vice President of NIO Europe, with extensive experience in global supply chain and innovation strategies across the automotive sector.
Janet Sanz – Vice President of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona and former Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning and Mobility. Prominent advocate for sustainable urban transformation and energy equity.
Mark Chung – VP of Safety Leadership & Advocacy at the National Safety Council (US), responsible for strategic initiatives advancing workplace and mobility safety.
Damiano Cerrone – Urbanist, researcher, and co-founder of UrbanistAI and SPIN Unit, pioneering the use of artificial intelligence in participatory city design.
Felipe Rodriguez – Program Director for Heavy-Duty Vehicles at the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), MIT PhD and leading expert on vehicle emission reduction.
Beatriz Yordi – Director at DG Climate Action (European Commission), responsible for the EU Emissions Trading System and renewable energy policies.

“The Program Council and speakers represent the absolute top tier of practitioners whose expertise perfectly aligns with our six thematic tracks: Clean Transport, Urban Innovation, Sustainable Economy, Infrastructure & Investments, Climate Policy, and Life Quality & Health,” notes Agata Wiśniewska-Mazur, Deputy Director for Organizational Development at PSNM.
“Each track provides a dedicated platform for knowledge exchange among global leaders in their fields, ensuring the highest level of content and practical solutions for the industry,” she adds.
The largest New Mobility EXPO in Central and Eastern Europe
Complementing the main Congress, the KNM 2025 EXPO will feature 150 exhibitors across 12,000 m² of exhibition space — the largest showcase of sustainable transport technologies in the CEE region.
Attendees will discover EV premieres, cutting-edge mobility solutions, next-generation infrastructure systems, and future mobility concepts.
A rich programme of side events will accompany the EXPO, including:
Innovation Forum – International Scientific & Technical Symposium on New Mobility 2025
Hydrogen Suppliers Days – gathering hydrogen fuel cell producers, refuelling station operators, and hydrogen economy experts
KNM Bike Show – featuring bicycle manufacturers and distributors
Startup eHub – a dedicated platform connecting mobility innovators with investors and partners
A strategic event for the European mobility transformation
The New Mobility Congress 2025 is not only the largest sustainable mobility event in Central and Eastern Europe but also a key networking platform for professionals shaping the future of transport, energy, and technology.
Amid rapid regulatory and market changes, KNM 2025 offers an unmatched opportunity for insight, collaboration, and inspiration.
“For decades, Upper Silesia and the Zagłębie region were associated with heavy industry and mining. Today, they radiate green energy and innovation,” says Kazimierz Karolczak, Chairman of the Board of Metropolis GZM.
“We are proud that the New Mobility Congress is moving from Łódź to Katowice. Together, we will host the most important event for the sustainable mobility and zero-emission technology sector in this part of Europe.”
