In less than three weeks Katowice will take center stage in the debate on European mobility
The countdown begins! On the 23rd of September, Katowice will become the venue for three days of discussions on sustainable development and the future of mobility. With over 550 speakers from across the world, 250 expert sessions and the region’s largest EXPO showcasing cutting-edge technologies, the New Mobility Congress will once again provide a platform for discussing the direction of transformation across key industries and sectors of the European economy.
For several years, the New Mobility Congress has consistently expanded its scope, and this year’s edition will be the most comprehensive yet. KNM 2026 will look beyond electromobility to address all key areas of transformation – from transport, rail, aviation, logistics and infrastructure, through energy, industry, AI and deep tech, to urban development, architecture and construction, housing, climate policy and health, security and resilience as well as future mobility.

New launches that will shape the direction of change over the next decade. Katowice will host the launch of KOMPAS 2035 – the Strategy for the Transformation of Poland’s Automotive Industry, a roadmap of actions aimed at strengthening the position of Poland’s automotive sector in the European value chain. Polish EV Outlook 2026 and the “New Mobility Cybersecurity” report will also be unveiled for the first time. And these are just some of the analyses, reports and expert studies that will be presented during this year’s Congress.
Multiple major events during one Congress. KNM 2026 will also host the Aviation Future Forum, dedicated to the future of European aviation, as well as the Deep Tech Transformation Forum, organized in cooperation with the Łukasiewicz Research Network. The latter will bring together academia, industry, and business to explore technologies that could shape the competitiveness of the European economy. The program will be complemented by a number of additional events, including the e-Commerce and Urban Logistics Forum, as well as specialist roundtables and several dozen workshops.

Participants can look forward to strategic debates, presentations by leading international experts, the launch of new reports, special events and an extensive EXPO showcasing technologies and solutions for mobility, transport, energy, infrastructure, industry and the cities of the future,” says Łukasz Witkowski, Vice President of the New Mobility Association.
From Autonomous Cars to Electric Aircrafts
One of the highlights of this year’s edition will be the opportunity to see technologies that, until recently, existed largely as concepts for the future. The Congress program will cover autonomous public transport, emerging aviation technologies, artificial intelligence, mobility cybersecurity, space and dual-use technologies, energy storage, and solutions transforming the way modern cities operate. An important part of KNM will also be the extensive EXPO area, covering 12,000 square metres and showcasing technologies for transport, energy, industry, infrastructure and the cities of the future.

Cities at the Heart of the Transformation
The transformation of mobility does not stop at roads, charging networks or cybersecurity – it also takes place in the spaces where we live our everyday lives. For this reason, architects, urban planners and representatives of the construction industry are becoming an increasingly important part of the Congress audience. This reflects a growing recognition that sectors which were previously viewed as separate – transport, energy and construction – are increasingly finding common ground. The way we design buildings, neighbourhoods and public spaces influences how people move around, how much energy cities consume, and how effectively they can respond to climate change and evolving social needs.

The way we design buildings, neighborhoods and entire cities affects not only how we move around, but also quality of life, resilience to climate change, energy and resource consumption, and cities’ ability to respond to emerging challenges. That is why architecture and construction will be among the key areas of the program at the New Mobility Congress 2026. The program will also feature the Student Architecture Workshop “Stop: Integration” and the student competition “HUB it! – HUBnij to!”, aimed at architecture and urban planning students exploring how cities, public spaces and the mobility of the future should be designed.

About Katowice
For many years, Katowice has been actively involved in numerous initiatives and projects, including those supported by EU funding, aimed at encouraging people to change their transport habits. The city has modern transport hubs, is expanding its tram infrastructure, and its public transport fleet includes electric buses. Katowice was the first city in Poland to meet the requirements of the Electromobility Act and fulfil its statutory obligation to provide the necessary charging infrastructure. Today, more than 200 charging points are available across the city.The city is also continuously investing in cycling infrastructure, expanding its network of bike stations and cycle routes, which now extends for more than 200 km.
